In May of 1993, following graduation from Indiana University, Coleman decided that it was time to fulfill a lifelong dream to live in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This dream led him over Rabbit Ears Pass, to the lush green meadows of the Yampa Valley and Steamboat Springs. The reason Coleman turned up in Steamboat that summer was nothing more than the fact that his parents had moved here the previous year giving him a free place to stay and a small sense of familiarity from many family ski vacations.
In March of 1995, Coleman got his real estate license and together with his father, they formed Colorado Group Realty. Today Colorado Group Realty consists of over 70 owners and associates that work together with a shared vision and commitment of providing excellent service to our clients. Our expertise in all areas of real estate is unsurpassed in the marketplace. We conscientiously contribute to and help shape the economic and cultural growth of our valley.
Coleman lives, works and plays in Old Town, downtown Steamboat Springs. Old Town truly defines the old real estate adage “location, location, location” and in many ways defines the true character of our community as a whole. Coleman takes tremendous pride in offering his best to make the process of purchasing resort property exciting, enjoyable and stress free. His strongest asset and recommendation is his satisfied customer base and his commitment to the community in which he lives. Coleman has been an active member of the local Rotary club since 2000 and he is the President of the Board of Directors for the Steamboat Free Summer Concerts.
Coleman and his wife Dawn were married in Zihuatanejo, a quintessential Mexican fishing village on the Pacific coast, in March 2008. Having attended weddings in Mexico and Jackson Hole, they were immediately drawn to the idea of having a destination wedding. Mexico was an easy choice because of their mutual love of the beach, the Mexican culture and its people; it was an incredible celebration! Zihua holds a special place in their hearts and they try to go back as often as possible.
Every time Coleman drives over the West Summit of Rabbit Ears Pass into Steamboat Springs, he feels extremely lucky and fortunate to live in such an incredible place. In his free time, Coleman enjoys skiing, travel, fishing, hiking and hanging with their Newfoundland, Zoe Bear. Coleman and Dawn love camping and the great outdoors. In 2014, they fulfilled another dream and purchased a 2007 Airstream to further explore our beautiful state, the Rocky Mountain region and beyond - go RVing! Coleman loves food and loves to cook. Coleman loves live music and many weekends during the summer you'll find him on the road with friends heading to a concert or festival. Colorado has the most amazing outdoor music venues including the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Coleman has lived in Steamboat Springs now for over 25 years which officially endorses his status as a true local. As a result, he has been inflicted by the Yampa Valley Curse - once you arrive here you will never leave or if you leave you will likely return. Careful, it is highly contagious and it's why we live here!
We recently sold a property in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Our local agent was Coleman Cook - we were well aware of Coleman's abilities going into this arrangement, and were very pleased with the seamless 'Group' approach.
Coleman Cook was our group realtor and was wonderful to work with. He had up to date information on the market in Steamboat Springs, and also kept us informed throughout the process of listing and selling our home. Our closing was also very smooth and seamless. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Coleman again.
Coleman Cook did a great job for us!

Coleman was fantastic to work with and we are very grateful we decided to list our home with him. He went above and beyond for us to get our house sold. From the beginning of the process right up to the closing Coleman worked hard, had great communication with us, and strived to do the best job possible. Overall we would absolutely recommend Coleman to any of our friends and neighbors in Steamboat. Thanks!
Coleman was great to work with. He was able to provide expert advice but at the same time listen to what we were hoping to do. A rare blend.
Coleman is an old acquaintance and he was very tolerant of our indecision to sell our home in Blacktail. Thank you Coleman.
